One of the most popular recent anime is 'Attack on Titan', with many people dressed as a giant Titan, or the soldiers that fight against them. My friend Zach and his brother Pearce built a rather large costume:

Shooting VK

Last month I was asked to photograph a VK or Visual Kei concert for Rokkyuu Magazine. I had a great time shooting the bands. It was a part of Japanese culture that I had not yet experienced.

The event was full of the energy and affectations of Glam metal with some distinctly Japanese nuances.

Kinetic

I've always really liked long exposure shots of traffic at night. There is an almost tangible kinetic energy that is communicated by the long trails of light, delicately borne by tons of moving steel and glass.

This week at dusk, I had the perfect opportunity to take some shots from the newly refurbished walkway at the intersection near Abeno Harukas (currently the tallest building, not tower, in Japan).
