Dinosaurs of Gondwana

The Osaka Museum of Natural History is currently exhibiting some extraordinary dinosaurs from the super continent of Gondwana.
They really grab your attention.

Malawisaurus Dixeyi, a smaller titanosaur, still huge.

Stegasaurus' head was about the same size as the head of a large dog.

Suchomimus (crocodile mimic), a relative of Spinosaurus, appears to be specialized in catching fish, and has teeth of the same kind and arrangement as modern crocodiles.

Aucasaurus Garridoi, looked to have even smaller arms than T. Rex.
It also appeared that most of the lower arm bones were fused together.
Rawr

Mapusaurus Roseae, a huge meat eating dinosaur, having larger arms and more blade-like teeth than T. Rex. The smaller dinosaur in the lower right is a juvenile of the same species.

Gigantosaurus carolinii, bigger than the Mapusaurus above, it was even larger than the Tyranosaurus Rex, with a skull 1.8m (6ft) long.

Not the biggest predator but certainly very fast and able to chase down whatever it wanted to, and long arms to grab its prey.
Deltadromeus agilis.

Unenlagia comahuensis, a dromaeosaur, which was feathered but did not fly. Rather, it ran around chasing other flightless bird like dinosaurs. At 2m in length it's a bit like a lion, only faster with arms and sickle like claws on its feet.

Anabisetia saldiviai, lunch for Unenlagai.

A recent find from Morocco,
Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, 'shark toothed lizard of the Sahara'

What Carcharodontosaurus would have looked like before it ate you.

Nipponbashi Street Festa: The Cars

The cars in the closest parking lot were also suitably attired for the event with custom paint jobs depicting the owner's favourite characters.

As ever, Miku was very well represented.
It doesn't matter how big your car is, it's what you do with it!

The onion in the character's hand is attached to the rear wiper so it swings.

He ran out of car.

So he painted his bike too.

Ears!

The interiors too...

One car wasn't enough though, so he painted and put ears on his scooter too.
Do everything 210%!

Nipponbashi Street Festa

The 5th Nipponbashi Street Festa was held on March 21st!

All of this gear can be bought from a store just down the street, I think they work there.

Giant Robot!
He had absolutely no problem moving around in the crowd.

(O_o)

The Miku character was very well represented by boys...

and girls.

Ghost in the Shell

Bayonetta
One of my friends did some voice acting for this game.
'Angel Attack!', not sure if he had any other lines though.

Cosplay at ATC

This weekend I decided to go take some pictures of people I didn't know, so I headed out to the Asia Trade Centre where a Cosplay (where people dress up as their favourite anime/manga/comic or game character). Most people were quite willing to have their picture taken, provided that you ask first. Still, I felt a bit of an outsider as I was the only visible foreigner there and wasn't dressed as some character. I have no idea who most of the characters are despite living in Japan for almost 9 years.

AKU!
but no Samurai Jack was present to save the day.

There were however:
Pirates
One Piece Characters (who are also pirates)

Baseball

Naga/Merperson of some kind.

Hatsune Miku, a creation of Yamaha Music.
An animated singer using text to song technology.
Video of a concert in Japan.
Personally, I think its just as real as Brittany or Milley, eye candy that doesn't write what it sings.

More skin will get you noticed.

For Bug Ferry :)

Noir at Midday Rail

At the rail yard near the docks I was trying to pick up some leads for the case.

Seemed to me that every other Dick and Jane was working the same case.
Hell, we all probably were.

Only one person didn't have a hat. I'd a feeling in my gut saying she had something to do with the case; and it had to be information, no one with jewels like that would be trying to scrape a few clams together by solving this rusted nut of an investigation.

Thought I'd try to be inconspicuous.

It was easy to spot the Jane who was working the case; she was as inconspicuous as I was, in exactly the way that people like us aren't.

That many people in hats, makes honest people spin stuff out of thin air just so you leave them alone. The dick in the vest even went so far as to take off his hat.

Looks like he knew the dame from somewhere that wasn't here and it seemed that she knew him from somewhere that wasn't here as well.

They both took off at a brisk walk.
Presumably to that somewhere that wasn't here.
I tailed them around a corner leading to an alley near the rails.
A sense of being near the end of the case building with each step.

I knew everything was going to end up in a dark place with lots of ducts, always does these days. At least the matter would be finished soon, there sure were a lot of ducts here...
